Kamali Co and Sotheby's International Realty Gearhart Office.
This project was broken up into three phases. The first was the display
wall, essentially a simplified version of the Cannon Beach office. The
Claro Cabinet “floats” in a wall of whitewashed horizontally installed
one by four Hemlock.
The second phase was the “lobby.” This included
the bench, the secretary desk, and the secretary cabinet. The bench and
secretary bar top are made of Claro Walnut while the desk and cabinet
are made of Eastern Maple. The Walnut is finished with oil and the
Maple with a waterbase finish to heighten the color contrast.
The third phase of work was to install the large Elm slab conference table, the delicate Maple and Walnut coffee table and the Walnut liquor cabinet along the back wall of the conference room. The Elm slab is a pair of slabs I joined to approximate the odd shape of the conference room. The base is Walnut.
